How to Register to work in the UK as a Doctor
You
will also need to show that you work or will work for a UK health and care
sector employer that has been approved by the Home Office.
So
how do you do this? If you are applying from outside the UK, I have compiled a
list of some links that I have found to assist you with your application and
how to get registered and eligible to work in the UK as a Doctor.
Applying from overseas
The NHS is the largest single
employer in the UK, employing over a million people, five per cent of the UK's
working population. Our workforce is extremely diverse and multicultural - just
like our patients. And we often look beyond the UK and Europe to attract the
best talent. Applications are particularly welcome from professionally
qualified healthcare staff from outside the UK.

To practice in the UK, all doctors should
register with GMC. There are different ways to apply for registration with a
license to practice in the UK. It depends mainly on your nationality, qualification,
and experience.
Contact www.epic.com
Log in to your EPIC account
and upload the qualification(s) that require verification. As you upload them,
select the GMC to receive an EPIC report.
ECFMG will assess your qualifications and communicate directly with your
awarding institution to confirm their authenticity.

The typical employer will be
the NHS, an organization providing medical services to the NHS, or an organization
providing adult social care. Where an employer is not currently approved they
can apply for a Sponsor License if they are eligible.
